My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! This is Bree and Ashley! Guess what! We found our new forever home!!! And guess what else? We get to stay together!!!! Not only are we starting a new life, we also are starting out with new names! Bree is now Fionna and Ashley is now Katie! We love our new names! This is what happened.

Our foster mom went on this thing called a home visit. She was so brave because she took both of us with her and we really don't like riding in cars or meeting new people. As a matter of fact, Katie threw up in the car and we were a mess by the time we got there. The new people we met didn't care though, they understood that sometimes car sickness happens. When we got there they had a westie girl whose name is Maggie. Maggie and Katie didn't get along too well at first. Katie was growling at her. I am sure that it was probably just Katie's upset stomach though! The humans thought it would be better if we all went outside. When we got outside, we ran around the entire yard and checked it out. It was fun to be free and just roam the entire yard. The humans were sitting on some chairs talking about us because I kept seeing them look at us several times. Katie and I decided to just sit behind our foster mom. All of a sudden Katie walked over to our new dad and let him pick her up, and I walked over to our new mom and did the same thing. It was so nice to be held and petted. Katie even gave our new dad some puppy kisses! My foster mom had tears in her eyes because Katie and I have been so skittish and haven't let anyone that we first meet even touch us let alone pick us up and get kisses. She knew right then that we had found our new forever home!!! We love our new family!

Here is what our new mom and dad say about us!

Katie and Fionna now lay at mine or Robin's feet when they sleep. They are gaining more confidence and trust. Not just in Robin and I but with Maggie and their surroundings. They are extremely smart. This evening Robin brought out a bunch of Maggie’s toys. Maggie grabbed one and was shaking the life out of it. I'm sure you've seen this once or twice. Fionna and Katie did the same thing without anything in their mouths. I almost died laughing. Katie is very brave. One by one she would go get a toy from the middle of the room and placed them in a pile by the big window by the back door. Hilarious to watch. She then took one near Maggie and they had a short tug-of-war. Maggie let her win. They are following Maggie around now. They followed her underneath the bed and throughout the house. Follow-the-leader. Fionna lay in my lap for over an hour and got a belly rub. I think she liked it as she fell asleep. I had to get up to finish dinner, when I returned she snuggled right up next to me and went back to sleep. Their energy levels are moving up very quickly. The three of them ran in the back yard this evening and made Robin and I tired just watching them. They are doing well at not using the bathroom in the house. We had two pee accidents, but we take them out alot, and praise them when they use the restroom outside. We feel as though we got the better end of the deal. They are great puppies and we love them and are enjoying them beyond explanation. Thanks, again.

Hi! My name is Bree. I am a petite little girl weighing in at 9.6 lbs. I am 4.5 months old and came from a breeder who said he was closing down shop (or should I say kennels!). I went to see the vet, Dr. T, and he said I was a healthy little pup! I just need to go back in about 3 weeks and get another set of shots. Dr. T also said that I would need to come back and get spayed when I get a little older too!

My foster mom thinks, until today, I have never had a human touch me because I run away from her when she wants to pick me up and hold me and I scoot way back into the crate so she has to reach far in to get me out. I spread my paws out and hold on for dear life because I don't know what to think when someone wants to hold me. Once she picks me up though, I melt in her arms and hold on to her for dear life. I know that someday I will get used to the petting and loving that I have never known before and won't be so skittish. I don't know how to walk on a leash but once I start trusting my human again, I am sure that I can learn very quickly.

My foster brother and sister don't scare me at all. I love to play with them in the backyard. Sometimes I get scared though because I don't know how to do that thing called "westie wrestling" yet. My foster brother tells me not to worry, he will teach me how just as soon as I am ready! I am just a little pup who needs lots of training but most of all LOTS OF LOVE! If you think you have the patience and love to help me grow into that thing they call "westitude", please fill out an application so I can find my new forever home!
