My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zeke is a 2-year-old neutered male chocolate lab. He weighs 56 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 16 and up.

Zeke is doing great in doggie day care. He believes he is a lap dog and prefers to sit in his humans lap. Zeke has done extremely well in his training classes with will need someone who will continue with his training and provide him with the rules and boundaries that he needs to continue to thrive. Zeke is fully crate-trained and house-trained. Zeke is still on the shy side and will need his owners to continue to help him build up his confidence. Loud traffic and sudden noises still scare him, but he is improving! He does cower if you reach out to touch him or pull on him; he will need a patient adopter to help him continue to learn about nice humans. Zeke loooooves people and will rub all over visitors. He takes to men in particular. He is a super cuddler and simply loves to be loved!
This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. Lab Rescue LRCP rescues and places dogs in Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and North Carolina. Adopters must travel to Maryland or Virginia with their family - human and canine - to meet the dog they want to adopt.

Lab Rescue LRCP has between 40 - 80 dogs available for adoption from foster homes across Maryland and Virginia, and at monthly adoption events. The adoption event dates and locations are listed at www.lab-rescue.org.

If you are interested in adopting, please visit www.lab-rescue.org and complete an adoption application. After you submit an application, you will hear from an Adoption Coordinator who will guide you through the adoption process.

An application fee and adoption fee are charged to help cover the cost of veterinary care, and a reference check and home visit are required.
