We adopted Boris from Giant Hearts Giant Dog rescue in Virginia. They are unable/unwilling to take him back at this time. Boris has developed some anxiety with our electric fence, so that he races back and forth as neighbors go by walking their dogs, and he looks rather threatening. This is not the case when he stays with a friend with a fixed fence - he's great with other dogs and is very playful, though he's fast and strong. My husband and I are living in two places at the moment and that is not helping Boris either. We have very young grandchildren in town and they also make him anxious. We've just recently put him on some anxiety medication (in consultation with our vet) which is helping a lot, but he needs a fixed fence yard with room to run. Boris spends a good part of his day sleeping on his favorite chair or in the sun inside, but outside he's on alert and very protective. He has not exhibited aggression, but because of his size, his bark is very scary for many people.
