Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Penelope but my besties call me Penny. I am a young girl at about 6 months old and 45 lbs. already. They say I’m a Newfoundland mixed with some Lab and that I have huge paws so I’m going to be a big girl when I’m done growing. I’m ok with that, just go with the “I Like Big Dogs and I Can Not Lie” saying and we’ll get a long just fine!
Before coming to the wonderful people at New Start Dog Rescue I had never been inside a house before. While I love it, I’m still learning how to behave like an inside dog and need some reminders not to chew on things and that pottying outside alllll the time is what makes everybody happy. I’m not perfect but what I lack in that area I more than make up with my sweet, loving disposition. So I’m looking for a patient home that will help with my training until I get the hang of it.
I love, love, love other dogs and people of all shapes and sizes, especially kids! But I’m a big girl so I could accidentally knock little ones over. I’m still a little timid with new things and it took me awhile to realize stairs weren’t something to be afraid of as well as getting in and out of a car and going for rides. I’m still working on all of this and I know I will overcome my fears in new surroundings with lots of love and encouragement from my new family.
If you are interested in this sweet girl, please visit the rescue website at http://newstartdogrescue.org and fill out an application so you can meet and check each other out. Penny’s adoption fee is $325 and she is current on all vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. Her new family will be required to take her to training classes as stated in her adoption contract. You must live local to the Chicagoland area please.
