My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas**

Haven did her best to avoid humans. Two litters of her puppies were rescued while she used her smarts to avoid capture many many times. But life on the streets was dangerous and Corridor Rescue knew it was only a matter of time before something terrible happened to Haven. After a plea on Facebook, generous donors contributed to sponsor a professional to dart and trap Haven. Needless to say, Haven was not the “thank goodness I’m rescued” type of girl. Instead, she was initially aloof and very, very shy. However, she quickly warmed up to the people that took care of her and she went to a foster home that specializes in shy girls.

In just a month, she has blossomed into an affectionate, happy dog that loves to cuddle. She obviously had no idea how awesome life could be, but now that she’s living the good life, she has quickly adapted to the family routine. Despite never living in a home before, she has perfect house manners, is crate trained, and gets along with all six of the other dogs in the house. She has bursts of playfulness with the other dogs, but is a medium energy dog--happy to just hang out next to the humans while they read or watch tv. She loves walks and has good leash manners most of the time, but she has shown a lot of interest in cats walking nearby so she may not be a good fit for a home with cats.

Haven is now ready for her forever family. While she was a bit stubborn about being rescued, now that she’s off the streets she never wants to go back to her previous rough life. She may take a little time to warm up to a new family and home, but you will be rewarded with a sweet, affectionate, loyal, smart and gentle companion for life.
