My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tobasco

Who doesn’t like a little spice in their life? Tabasco is a fun charismatic little guy with lots of love to give, he’s come all the way from Dominican Republic and is excited to meet you and show you what an excellent boy he is. His beginnings were tough and he has been working hard so he can become a great addition to your family. He has come a long way and we are optimistic he is going to be the most beautiful, intelligent, affectionate and most loyal boy he can be!

Tabasco is is coming along really well in his foster home and is ready to find his family. He is incredibly cute and well behaved, and learns things very quickly. You can tell just by looking at him how bright he is! He is crate trained, and does really well if he is left on his own, and only barks for a minute or two before he settles down. He already knows most of his basic commands and learns very quickly, he loves to make you happy and is very attentive. He even knows how to shake paw, and is learning to walk in a circle on his hind legs! He is ready for you to fall in love with him, and you most likely will!

Tabasco is not only very bright and playful, he is very affectionate and loves to cuddle. He will snuggle up happily with you at the end of a long day, and be prepared to give lots of tummy rubs, those are his fav. He loves to play with his toys and is very entertaining and funny to watch!

With anyone familiar, he’s absolutely friendly and love to be petted and attention! He also loves to meet new people but, he gets overexcited sometimes and often jumps up, and this can easily be fixed with a little more training. He is a fast learner, and he’s still just young, so a little patience is all he needs!

Tabasco does have some anxiety issues, but he is being worked with and he’s trying hard to overcome them. He can be anxious on his walks, and outside when there is a lot of noise and stuff going on. He is also fearful of other dogs, and he does bark and growl at them, especially if he is in close proximity. He is being trained extensively to correct his behaviour and with a calm assertive handler he can conquer his fears, one step at a time! He also seems to be a bit confused and anxious with going potty, and sometimes has accidents. He seems anxious to go when people or other dogs are around and usually will go after some exercise. We are sure once he is settled in the right household, and gets a little more training and a regular routine, he will improve a little every day! it A home with a fenced yard so he can run around and play, is recommended for him, although he has adjusted to living in an apartment building. He has had fears of the elevator, but has overcome that and which goes to show he is becoming more confident as each day passes.

He is active and needs to be with a family that would like to be active along with him. But on the other hand, he seems most comfortable to be inside and is more of a homebody, as he is somewhat fearful of the great outdoors. A good long walk a couple times a day would be well suited for him. But in the fullness of time, he will be less fearful and more confident to be excited to go on any adventures with you! He is really the best of both worlds! He would do well in a calm quiet home in a quiet are, so that he can relax I little better and not be frightened by so much commotion around him.

He loves to play with his toys and is not destructive in the home. He is still learning the leash and is doing fairly well , if anything he hangs back more and is shy as opposed to pulling and lunging. He is very attentive and obedient, and just needs a little confidence boost. He would be happiest in a home without other pets, and preferably with older kids if any.

Tobasco is a smart, playful energetic and simply beautiful boy who needs to find his forever home, so he can shower you with love and kisses. He wants to be your new best friend, and with the right mommy or daddy he can be a great addition to your family, and grow into the wonderful dog that he was intended to be. With a little patience, and love he is going to turn out beautifully. Just look at that face! How can anyone resist?! The love you give will be returned tenfold, and with his gorgeous looks, and funny silly ways, he will charm the socks off you and anyone he meets along the way!
