My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi,
This is Lily, and she is a 5 year old miniature Australian Shepherd. She loves going for walks at the park, and is wonderful on and off leash. She is a great runner, and hill climber! She has been trained with voice recall when off leash. She is also happy just hanging out too, and can play peek-a-boo.
Lily struggles with high levels of anxiety, and is not fond of car rides. She is mostly afraid of other animals, new places, people, and dark objects. Because she will shy away from interacting with other animals, she does not like dog parks. She likes walking and running, but not hiking.
She is learning to be a family pet. So the concept of play with her is mostly foreign. She doesn't know how to fetch, play wrestle, tricks, etc. ... It would be best if she was the only pet. Sorry, she is afraid of cats. She is very much food motivated, but not aggressive. She has not been around small children, but she tends to jump up on her person to help put on her leash.
Lily would do best in a home with a large fenced in backyard or with a highly active person. This person must be extremely patient, a gentle but firm leader, as she struggles to make decisions for herself or communicate her needs.

Lily’s ideal home would be a fenced in yard, an only pet and a family with past experience with dogs from traumatic pasts or breed experience.
