My story

Buddy is being fostered in Palm City, FL (Martin County). He is an approximately 6-year-old, 40-pound low rider. He is a mix of six breeds based on his DNA test: American Pit Bull Terrier, Boston Terrier, Chow, German Shepherd, Bulldog, and American Staffordshire Terrier. He is a very mellow dog who wants nothing more than to be a couch potato. Buddy requires a home with a fenced yard, as he does not enjoy going off the property for a leash walk. He would be a good companion for someone who has a quiet lifestyle and is home most of the time. Buddy has an old weight bearing injury in his right hind quarter, so no athletics for him. He has been successfully treated for heartworms, is neutered, chipped and current on vaccines. He is housebroken, crate trained, and good with other dogs. Cats are unknown, but he is non-reactive to farm animals.

Additional adoption info

We require potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application. When that is approved we can arrange for the prospective adopter to meet the dog they are interested in. We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We conduct home visits. There is an adoption fee that is usually around $250 per dog to cover any expenses we have incurred. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.

More about this rescue

We are a small rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one on one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are a highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary. It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
