My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Princess is a 9-year-old spayed female yellow lab. Princess weighs 61 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

DESCRIPTION: They call me Lilly Mushrooms because I am cute as button and close to the ground, you can call me Lilly. I am a quiet country girl who is loving suburbia and would even do great in the city. I came to NoVa to recover and I have made a full recovery. I love to wag my tail and my entire butt when it is time to go outside, you see I get really excited. I sometimes give you a good "woof" when you are taking too long to get ready. Outside time is my favorite, I get to smell all the grass, flowers and mulch. I find it all very interesting. I love going for walks and I prance a little from side to side. I have great leash manners, but sometimes I like to step right in front of you, so watch out! I do not walk in a straight line. I am house trained (really some of those others need help). I love dog beds but I call them Lilly pads, the more the merrier so I can spend my days going from one bed to the other. I do not need to be crated, a lady knows her manners. I love to sleep, but I prefer belly rubs I will roll immediately on my back for them! I do not jump on the furniture, yet again a lady knows her manners. I like other dogs just fine, but I love people more than anything- even the short ones! Will you be my match?

This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. Lab Rescue LRCP rescues and places dogs in Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and North Carolina. Adopters must travel to Maryland or Virginia with their family - human and canine - to meet the dog they want to adopt.

Lab Rescue LRCP has between 40 - 80 dogs available for adoption from foster homes across Maryland and Virginia, and at monthly adoption events. The adoption event dates and locations are listed at www.lab-rescue.org.

If you are interested in adopting, please visit www.lab-rescue.org and complete an adoption application. After you submit an application, you will hear from an Adoption Coordinator who will guide you through the adoption process.

An application fee and adoption fee are charged to help cover the cost of veterinary care, and a reference check and home visit are required.
