My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Courtesy Post** Hello everybody! My name is Goose. I was dumped on the street with 4 other pups of various ages at the end of December 2019 in Baton Rouge, LA. We were rescued and given a warm bed, hugs and kisses from some very nice folks. Currently I live with my foster family. They have another dog and three cats. They are trying to help me find a furever home with a family that will LOVE me and take care of me.
I am a Jack Russell Terrier for the most part. (Maybe a mix?) This means I have springs in my legs and go boing, boing, boing everywhere I run. I am very high energy and need lots of room to run and play. I am trying really hard to be housebroken. I am between one and two years old (that’s what they tell me). I think cats are funny and I try to play. When they run from me, I run after them! So fun! I have a slight underbite, but my foster mom thinks it’s cute. I sleep in the bed every night with my foster sister. She’s a human. My foster brother is a big gold hairy dog named Blue. I want to have at least one other dog to live with because I love to play and shake things like a rag doll. I may be okay with older kids, over 12, but I get scared of sudden movement. My new family would need to be VERY patient with me. My doggie friends and I were not very well socialized before being dumped. We are all “skittish” which means we get scared easily. I do fine on a leash with a harness but I will need a VERY secure yard and cannot be trusted in the yard alone. I would do best with someone that is home at least part of the day because I get stressed and agitated when left alone for a long time. Also, my potty training will go faster if I have LOTS of time to do my “business” in the yard. I only weigh 12 lbs so I can fit on your lap once I get to know you. Oh, BTW . . . I am heartworm negative, have been neutered, microchipped and I am up to date on all vaccinations.
My foster mom told me I can’t just go “live anywhere I want,” because she and my foster sister are very picky. In addition to an active family with a secure fenced yard and another pup to play with, my new family will also need experience with the breed (or another similar active breed) and excellent vet references. I know that seems like a lot, but they say I am worth it! My foster family says that they may not know much about my past, but they will make sure that I will have a wonderful future with a loving family
