My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adopted 2-24-24 with her best friend Julio!

Doll is 8 years old and 30-35 lbs. She has been here since she was a little puppy. She was found on a nearby hilltop, having likely never seen people before. She hasn't gotten over this early lack of socialization.

She hides from people she doesn't know. But there are volunteers who has spent time with her and given her treats, and Doll always does a happy dance when the volunteers come. She even lets herself be petted a little. It's possible she would open up in a patient home where she would see her people more often and would get one on one attention. It would help if her future home had other dogs, because she seems to learn from their example.  Her best dog pal here is Julio.

When unsocialized dogs are adopted they need a little time to adjust to the new routine. They should improve once they see how their new home is much better than the shelter environment, and once they associate their new owners with the people who give them food and other good things.
