I have been fostering Louie for 5 months. He was abandoned in the NW side of Rochester when I became aware of him. He had been on the streets for approximately 6 months at that time. I advertised on FB to see if he had an active owner, but no one emerged to claim him.
Louie has been fully vetted and tested for leukemia and FIV. He tested negative for both.
He is friendly, almost dog like in that he follows me everywhere. He gets along well with my other male cat; however, my female has not bonded with him and must be kept separated. She is acting out in destructive ways and I fear it will escalate. I love Louie; he beautiful, smart and deserves a wonderful home.
I think one of the issues for my female is that my place is small, i.e. not enough territory. So a bigger home or an only cat situation is best.
Also, because of his long hair he requires regular grooming; he is part Chantilly/Tiffany, I was told, so grooming is a must lest fur gets stuck in the digestive tract.
It is with a heavy heart that I post this profile. If, by some miracle, my female gives in, I will gladly keep Louie in our home.
