My story

Hobbes is a handsome, sweet, ultra-playful and fun 18-month-old, 50-pound male brindle and white pit bull/boxer-mix looking for a loving guardian.

Hobbes sits when asked, but he does excitedly jump up on people. His tail is always happily wagging.

This fun boy came to Chicago from Metropolis, Illinois where he was found stray.

He loves to play ball and may be best with teens and adults due to his high-energy level.

He is good with all other dogs and but he has not been cat-tested.

Hobbes is very healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm and fecal-tested negative.

To meet and possibly adopt Hobbes, please contact Melia at for an adoption application.

His adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued dogs of Lucky Dog Rescue.

He is being fostered in Chicago.

A home visit will also be done prior to any adoption being completed.

All of these dogs are currently located in foster homes or paid boarding either in Chicago, IL or surrounding areas. An appointment can be made to view any of the animals at the convenience of the potential adopter and the foster.

More about this rescue

We are a very small group of independent dog rescuers. All of the dogs that are available for adoption were saved from needlessly being euthanized in high kill shelters. Once a dog is brought into our care, it receives all of the vetting that is necessary including a spay/neuter surgery, HW test, and vaccinations. A foster home is then provided for the dog until a forever adoptive home can be found. When a foster home is not available, the dogs will be placed in paid boarding until they are adopted.
