Buddy von Brilon is a stunning 4 year old long haired German Shepherd. He has a striking black, grey and brown coat and the most adorable face. Like many people, he has a few things in his past he is not proud of, but he has turned over a new leaf! He has been super good in the kennel with everyone for the last few months. He came from a home, and it was traumatic for him to end up in a kennel. He was returned for lack of social skills, basically attached himself to one person in the family. He has had some obedience training, and knows his commands. He is also housebroken. Buddy loves dogs, he would do great with an active dog, a yard and an adult home, he would be happy as a clam and so would you! Buddy comes with follow up training with our trainer. Buddy has a special soul and wants so badly to have another chance at a home. Plus you can’t get more beautiful than Buddy!

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
