My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nikita is a sweet girl, with sad eyes. She came to us after a series of tragedies. Her owner found out he had cancer and decided he could no longer care for Nikita or her companion, a chocolate Lab, named Myra. Before he could get them to the shelter, his house burned down and Nikita and Myra were rescued from the fire. They were taken to the local shelter but Myra didn't make it.

A wonderful volunteer, by the name of Rebecca, picked Nikita up, took her to the vet, then to the groomer (she was extremely matted and dirty) where Nikita got a bath and a much needed haircut. The photo of her in the car was taken right after her bath. We couldn’t even recognize her- she looked wonderful!

Nikita has adjusted well to her foster home and another Brittany, Sachi, and a Cockerpoo named Laddie. She is still not sure what Jake, the cat is or what he's good for.

She would be happy with anyone who could just love her. She likes sleeping in and just being or having a companion. Nikita truly has a will to live and a love of life. She has taken all of these challenges in stride, but you can’t hide those eyes.
