My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sage is both busy and low key – it just depends on what mood you catch him in! He’s 11 months old and loves to work and learn! He is quite easy to live with and is housetrained, crate trained, and has a significant number of trained skills. He loves training sessions more than anything else and would do best in a home that enjoys training or competitive dog sports. Tricks, scent work – he’s up for whatever he can get in the way of training time! He is sometimes shy with strangers, but not always. With some people he needs time to warm up. He lives with a certified professional dog trainer, who will be available for his lifetime to answer all questions regarding training and behavior. Sage is good with cats and lives with several other dogs currently. He could probably adapt quite successfully to a home with older children, but young children could be too much for him initially.

Sage was born at our facility to a mom we pulled from the shelter 8 days before she gave birth. He was placed into our service dog training program, but along with his littermates, developed some shyness and aloofness with strangers as an adolescent puppy. He is very outgoing and loving once he warms up. He enjoys training and snuggling with people. He is especially having fun learning to retrieve right now!
