Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Opie and I am a handsome boy. I have settled in with my foster brothers and sister, and was very gentle with the new foster boy who must arrived, because I know how tough it can be. I am focused, alert, sensitive and eager to please. I am also happy to sit by your side in the house and watch TV. I love to play Frisbee in the yard and am getting really good at catching it….don’t like to bring it back but I am learning! When I do catch it, my foster mom cheers me on so now I like to do lots of jumps and flips just to hear her cheer me on. I am really good with other dogs and will sniff, then go on my way. When I got to my foster home, I discovered the cat and was very curious but now she just walks by and I stare her down…LOL. I got to go to Petsmart one day and OH BOY, I had lots of fun. I got to sit in on a puppy class, walk the floor, meet other dogs and people and play with toys. I also got lots of attention from children who gave me hugs and pets. I have a kiddie pool at my foster home and I like to drink and dip my toes in it but really love the hose when the pool is being filled. I have quickly learned the house rules and routine. Everyday, I get to learn a new trick or command. I am a master at sit and down. I am also getting really good at stay and will sit, stay and wait for release for my dinner. I am still learning how to walk nicely on a leash.
Foster Mom: Opie came to our pack unsure but his personality quickly started to show. He is confident, yet always looking for guidance. He rides very well in the car and will lie down and take a nap. He seems to really like the water from the toilet instead of the water bowl and can get carried away with his intake, so we keep the lids down and an eye on his drinking levels…I call him a “waterholic”. He had one accident when arriving but since then, no accidents in the house. Being a typical Brittany, he will get in the trash and counter surf. To help him understand, he has been trained to the Invisible Fence inside pods. He quickly learned that the kitchen and other areas in the house are off limits and respects the boundaries. Opie has the typical fun-loving Brittany spirit and will require a family that will be committed to continuing training. Since he is still a young active Brittany, he will also need a fenced yard to stretch those legs. If you are interested in adopting Opie please fill out our online adoption application at www.americanbrittanyrescue and note Opie.
History:
