My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Rocky I am an absolute love and have the most amazing blue eyes at least that’s what I hear from everyone around me. I am 2 years of age and weight almost 15#, I was relinquished to animal control as an un-neutered male as my first family could not care for me. The kind folks at the shelter neutered me and saw that I would be better off in a foster situation, shelters are really loud and scary especially when you are little.

I am a velcro dog and love to be around my foster mom and human foster sister, I get a little nervous around men especially when they are moving. My first family never laid down any rules for me so I made up my own and we have been working on changing some of my bad habits. I love to go for walks but still have issues with barking at other dogs and trying to do zoomies when I am on a leash, I love the other dogs at my foster family’s house and adore spooning with the fluffiest one when he will let me. I was told that I could not chase the cat that lives here and I have done a good job of following that rule we do sometimes play but cats play weird so I do not like playing with him as much as I do the other dogs.

My absolute favorite activity is playing fetch. I can carry around a normal sized tennis ball and love to defuzz them. I get the zoomies when we play fetch in the yard and you should see the smile on my face since I am so happy to be playing. Because I was neutered late and I think the world I live in needs to know I am here since I am so small I do sometimes make bad choices and mark on objects in the house. It is humiliating but sometimes I have to wear a band so if I make a bad choice there is not a mess to clean up, I am trying to remember that I can do that outside but not inside. I do a good job of doing my business outside but sometimes the urge to say this is mine is too great, but I am getting better everyday says my foster family.

Since my world has changed a lot since the beginning of the year I do struggle with some separation anxiety, my dog friends here help me get through the days when the humans went to work or school. They are doing that going away thing less now and I really love that my human foster sister is home all the time. She sometimes takes me out for a short jog. When I have had exercise and am tired my foster mom tells me I make better choices. I think I would like to have another dog at home to help me when no humans are home, and if you love Aussie wiggle butts I am your man, I also love to dole out kisses so I hope to find a home that loves my kisses.
