My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kenny one of sweet Whippets rescued from China. Please read his bio before you apply to adopt www.txigrescue.org/adopt
 
Kenny was rescued from a slaughterhouse in China when he was about 2 months old in October 2019. He then spent 4 months at a veterinarian clinic waiting on other dogs to be rescued so they could all take a flight to the US together. He along with the other 2 whippets that were rescued flew to Houston in January.
 
One of our TIGR volunteers drove Kenny to DFW and now he has been with his foster Mommy since (January 2020). Kenny has easily acclimated to dog life the way it should be. He has other dogs to play with, a back yard to run in, his own doggie bed, blankets, toys, healthy food, & lots of love. He is a very quick learner. He potty trained very easily. He learned to play fetch and now that is is favorite thing to do. He loves being outside, a a backyard with a minimum 6ft fence will be required. He will also need a Ruffwear webmaster harness ( https://ruffwear.com/products/web-master-harness ) because he is very active and curious on walks. Kenny is very social, he will need an active home with another young dog (20 to 30 pounds) in the house that can play with him & keep him company when home alone.
 
He does not do well in a crate if he is left in one for more than 4 hours. His ideal home would be with someone who works from home or has the flexibility to come home during the day a couple of times. Kenny has a very sweet personality. He sleeps in the bed with his foster Mom and LOVES to snuggle.
When not hanging out with his foster Mom, he loves snuggling with his other foster brothers and sisters. He gets along well with the cat in his foster home.
 
Please do not apply if you live in an apartment, don’t have a minimum 6ft fenced backyard, don’t have another dog ( about same age and size 20 to 30 pounds) in the home that will play, or plan on leaving him home alone for long periods of time.
 
Kenny is a very special boy who needs and deserves a forever home that will embrace his silly, loving and active self.
