My story

This sweet meatball is Larry! He was pulled from a high kill shelter in Houston on the day he was to be put to sleep.

Larry is a young, goofy, loving, and friendly boy that will totally mend to your habits! If you want to be a couch potato, he's game. If you want to rough house, he'll love every minute of it! Larry is still pretty young and is very willing to learn. He is treat motivated and already knows 'sit'. Larry would do best in a home that doesn’t have a lot of visitors or roommates. He tends to bond very well with one person and can be protective of his person after that.

Larry is neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. He is ready to find his loving forever home so he can get spoiled like he deserves!

Our adoption process includes an application, a meeting/play date with your future fur baby, a brief home visit, and an adoption fee. Our adoption fees are in place to offset veterinary costs (spaying, neutering, vaccines, deworming, and microchipping) and to ensure our dogs will not be used for dog fighting or any other malicious purposes.

More about this rescue

We started this organization to fill a need. Animals are being euthanized in astonishing numbers across the country simply due to overcrowding of shelters. It's heartbreaking! Our main focus is to pull these animals out of these high-kill facilities and place them in loving forever homes. We have several local fosters that are willing to provide temporary TLC for these pets while they are waiting for their "forever humans" to come along! We are also passionate about community education in areas of need. The pet overpopulation problem rests solely on the shoulders of humans and that is why more focus needs to be placed on educating people and making them more aware of the issue. We want to give as many animals as possible the chance they deserve, so that is why we founded Happy Landings Animal Rescue.
