My story

Update 7/30/21 Phil just visited his cardiologist and is off all his heart meds. He is a Maine Coon mix and can have heart issues more often than another breed. BUT he is doing famously and no longer has to be on heart meds!
Update 11/2/19 Phil was diagnosed with a heart issue. He has seen a cardiologist and his heart is doing much better. He takes his medications like a champ, almost opens his mouth without help. He is not good with other cats and is eligible for fostering with all his medical expenses paid, He just needs your love and to give him his meds (so easy!)
Phil was brought into a local vet clinic, beat up and had seen better days. They fixed up all his wounds and welcomed him to the inside world. We brought him into the shelter to find him a awesome indoor home. He is a sweet guy. Can you give this handsome boy a safe indoor home? Born 2014

More about this shelter

Who We Are:

HELP Humane: HELP Humane Inc. is a non-profit organization currently run by a small group of animal lovers in Cass County, MO (just south of Kansas City).

All HELP animals are treated by veterinarians receive age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, spayed/neutered and those incoming after Oct 2005, have been micro chipped. Cats have been Feluk/FIV tested and are negative unless otherwise stated. Dogs have been heartworm tested and are on heartworm preventative.

HELP now has a no-kill shelter. HELP does not take in any owner relinquished animals. HELP rescues stray dogs and cats from the streets. We have been told by many adopters that the reason they liked adopting form us is because we have a happy place and all the cats are the friendliest ones they had ever met. HELP feels that ALL animal’s are worth saving. We have many FIV and FeLV+ cats in our care. They will live with us until they end their life’s journey or find a permanent home.

Currently we are in a financial crisis and desperately need more funding to continue our mission. We are also currently in need of foster homes. The more foster homes we have, the more pets we can help. We also need more volunteers and a grant writer. Of course donations of money and/or pet supplies are most helpful.

Our regular monthly meetings are at 7:00pm, the 1st Tuesday of each month. At our Shelter at 17122 Bel Ray Place, Belton, MO 64012.
