My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I have had Dakota for fourteen months. He is a seven year-old (mostly, I think) Maine Coon. He lived in my apartment complex with a neighbor who was relocating and unfortunately couldn't take him along. He had a one year-old brother who was adopted quickly. I took him, as I didn't want to see him surrendered to the SPCA.
He is a quiet, sweet, shy boy that craves affection. Although wary of strangers, he warms up quickly. Doesn't like dogs (I was told). He lived with another cat and I heard he acclimated right away.
I am seeking out a new family because I am highly allergic to cats. I've been taking prescription medication, but of late, my respiratory issues have worsened and although it breaks my heart, I've no alternative but to find him a new home.
He is neutered, has had preliminary shots, but hasn't seen a vet in the last six years. He eats well and loves to play. He's taken to sleeping on the bed with me.
I want to find someone who will love and care for him.
