My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

4/24/19: Hey everyone! My name is Gunner and I want a family who has time to work on my manners and provide structure while not being suckered by my handsome face. In my short 2 years, I have been in at least two different homes before ending up at the shelter for a second time. Thank goodness for CBR who saw that I am a diamond in the rough and wasn't scared away by my label of being a "guarder." Yes, I love my balls and my food and I have been known to snap at other dogs who come near me while I eat and play. However, my foster mom told me that I don't have to be selfish and she watches me like a hawk while I eat and play. All mom has to do is tell me "no!" and give me a stern look and I straighten up. I am doing so well that my fur baby brother is allowed to eat in the same room as me and we get to play together all the time now. Mom still says that she doesn't trust me to eat and play alone with him and that she would not trust me around small children since they like to take toys and might accidentally mess with me while I eat. Along with working on sharing, mom has also been working on getting me to potty in the yard instead of the house as well as getting me to like my crate. According to mom, I have came a long way in just a week and it is obvious that my former owners didn't spend any time working on training me or teaching me manners like not to jump on the table and chew my leash while on walks. Other than working hard on social and behavioral skills, I have had a lot of fun with mom too. She has taken me on several hikes and jeep rides. We have played ball every day and I have gotten to go swimming in the lake twice. I have tons of energy and can go all day and behave better if I stay busy so no lazy homes for me.
