Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kiefer arrived in our care on 2/25/20. This young intact fella, about 6 to 7 months old, was found on a homeowner's steps, curled up and ready to die. Thankfully, someone told them to reach out to us and we had a volunteer out on the road who was willing to run get him. Initial assessment shows severe dehydration as well as starvation. Both eyes were crusted completely shut with crusting down his fa ce, under his jaw. The lower jaw is misaligned, most likely due to trauma. His body itself appears cachetic but otherwise intact. Regardless, this fella arrives on death's door yet seems to have at least a bit of dignity left in him, hopefully enough to fight for the good life he doesn't even know lies ahead of him. He has a ridiculous amount of suppurative drainage both from his eyes (L>R) and down his throat. Poor, dear fella. Subq fluids have been given as have antibiotics. Syringe feeding slurries every 2 hours for now. He moves his tongue to facilitate swallowing, thankfully. We have pain meds for him as well. For now he is simply curled up snoring away. Precious wee Kiefer could use your prayers.
