Hello future family! My name is Cody and I’m an island boy. I come from beautiful St Croix. I am about 8 months old and a Dachshund mix. I am shy at first and may need time to warm up to new people but once I know you want to be friends I will happily be your best buddy for life. They say I am fun and playful. I love running after tennis balls and squeaky toys. I am enjoying my time with my foster sisters, but can also be happy as an only dog. Kids of all ages have fun with me too. I love to lie down on the couch next to a hooman, or relax on a nice fluffy rug. My energy level is moderate...the perfect balance. I am crate trained and almost have the hang of being house trained. My favorite place to sleep at night is on a hooman’s bed, and I love to cuddle as I drift off to sleep. If there are fluffy blankets, even better. Even though my beginning wasn’t so wonderful after being dumped with other pups, I am adjusting very well to living indoors in the comfort of a loving home. Cody is currently being fostered in North Carolina. Due to Covid 19 we are currently only able to transport as far as Rhode Island.
