My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

6/28/20: I have been in my foster home for a little over a month now. Foster momma says I am doing great and acclimated quickly. There are still 2 little dogs that live here too, we don't pay much attention to each other, however, FM says we all get along. Boy do I LOVE to eat! FM has to remind me not to eat the pups food, it is just so good, though! FM does give us yummy treats, I like the soft ones the best! I have free range of the home now, FM says I am not mischievous and me and the other dogs get along well when FM is out of the house. I have severe arthritis but it doesn't keep me down! I still love to do the boxer dance and play but I do get tired quickly. FM says I would do just fine with older kids in the house, but because I do not realize my size, it would be best not to live with young kids because I would not want to knock them over by accident. I am told I am doing great!!!

Foster Mom Update:
Lulu has been doing wonderful! She gets along with my little dogs just fine. The dogs get along when I am not home (I have a puppy cam) and they all are free roamers in the living room and kitchen. Lulu does tend to get a little over zealous with food and tries to eat the other two's food when they are not looking. I have not witnessed any food aggression. Lulu was taken to the vet for a pea size mass I found on her shoulder, it was biopsied and is not malignant. I sometimes have difficulty getting her to go off of the back patio into the yard, I think she still has reservations. She will plant her feet in the ground and not move. I bring out small treats with me when we go outside and she is rewarded for following me off the patio and into the yard. This has worked well with her and now I see no issues with taking her outside (except when the fire works start popping off at dusk). She is house trained. She keeps coming out of her shell and is showing us how much love she has to give! She is such a love bug and loves her hugs and loves to give kisses! She is an Angel!

6/3/20: I came to my new foster home about 5 days ago. I had a long travel but everyone said I did great! I mainly slept in the back seat with my new favorite CBR blanket. I have really severe arthritis in my legs so it is difficult for me to get into or out of the car, so my new foster momma had to pick me up but I was great and allowed her to do so. I probably would not do well in a home that has stairs as it would be very difficult for me to get up and down stairs and I would likely have to be carried. I came to my new foster home with a honking cough but I was given some antibiotics and the cough has seemed to clear! I had to stay separate from my foster momma's dogs for the first few days due to my kennel cough and I needed time to decompress (or that was what I was told :) ). I seemed to love my new home and foster momma immediately! She gives me treats, belly rubs, hugs, kisses and scratches, which I LOVE! FM gets me so happy and try my best to do the happy boxer dance, I think my FM loves seeing me so happy! I finally got to be introduced to my new bunk mates, 2 chihuahuas (female and male, 8 & 9 yrs old). Boy are they little! The girl one likes to growl at me from a distance but I just ignore her, she thinks she is the boss...haha! The boy one comes over and checks me out, gives me a kiss and takes off. We just all hang out and ignore each other for the most part. My FM tells me I'm so quiet but I sure do love to give the kisses and dance! I am missing a lot of my teeth and the ones I have are flattened. Foster momma says I have the cutest smile because I have a bit of an underbite and it looks like I have a pouty lip. I didn't think FM would notice my messy eating but she did, however, she told me it didn't matter because she was so happy to see me eating and so happy that I am happy! I have adjusted very quickly and very well to my new foster home.

From Foster Momma:
Lulu is an AMAZING DOG. She is the absolute sweetest! She just wants to be near you and sneaks kisses when you are not looking. I see no aggression towards my two small dogs, despite my female chi growling. She just ignores them. Lulu had a honking cough when she came here. She was already started on doxycycline before I got her. She has completed the doses that were sent with me and today, no cough. Her arthritis is bad, but it doesn't seem to stop her from wanting to dance around or play with me, I try not to let it go on long because I do not want her to hurt herself. She has not barked once since I have had her. She has a great appetite and loves when I give her treats. She is completely house broken, no accidents in the house. I have a kennel for her and it is opened, she goes in it sometimes and lies down. I have found no need to keep her in a kennel, it's there if she feels she wants to sleep in it. She has a big dog bed that she sleeps on and sleeps with blanket that CBR gave her. She did well with the bath, she didn't much care for it but she let me bath her. She is on arthritis medication twice daily, I crush the medication and mix it in with some wet food and she eats it right up. She is an absolute love bug and a beautiful angel!
