My story

Meet Prince Santos!

1 to 2 year old meat head pit bully mix? He is a low rider, sadly some fool cropped his ears. Santos is so sweet and truly loves all people. He does not trust pushy dogs nor appreciates dogs in his face but tolerates them. He is good with most friendly mannered playful dogs. He is learning how to be a dog.

Santos is so ready for his happy forever. He is semi active semi lazy doggo. He loves tonsmootch and cuddle and spoon. He enjoys being pampered and is very food and praise motivated but still bull headed. Santo is crate and house train and does well on his own.

With his layback, baby like, lazy chill snuggly personality I'd say he do fine with kids 12 years and older. Santos can be very bull headed but we are working on his stubbornness. He is very food and praise motivated. Not sure about toys yet. We have noticed he runs hot and over heats easily like most meat ball heads

Santos loves to be sung to also and does not mind wearing gear: Vest, hat, hoodie, sweaters. Bandanna. His favorite song amongst many is baby shark.

Santos is house and crate trained up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, dewormed, fecal tested negative, microchipped, neutered, and on monthly heartworm flea/tick prevention.

Out of state adopters are welcome at the adopters expense. We do NOT ship a meet and greet is required before adoption unless you are a previous adopter.

Training is an ongoing process that has to be worked on daily. New issues and opportunities show up daily that have to be addressed and/or rewarded. Continuing training is a must.

Additional adoption info

Completed applications MUST be Printed & Mailed via United States Postal Service. We are a volunteer-based rescue, meaning every person involved is doing their best. Taking time out of their busy day to best help provide proper daily maintenance care for every dog and/or cat in our care until the best match with a happy forever adopter is made. Normally our adoption application processing review may take 2 to 3 weeks give or take. If you are seeking same-day adoptions then AHS may not be the best fit for your needs. We do not agree with impulse adoption. Adopting any pet is a decision that should not be taken lightly nor made impulsively.

We are a foster-based all-volunteer program. We are not a government shelter facility nor are we open to the public. Our adoption process can take 2 to 3 weeks from the time you mail it in to the time that we reach out to you. If you are window shopping we are not the rescue for you. We are seeking committed adopters.
