My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

7/20/20: Well hello there and thank you for reading my bio!. I've had quite a journey over the last few months as I've lived with my Foster parents during this thing called "Covid 19". We have all been hunkered down and staying home so I am getting lots of attention (which I really love). We even had other family members move in w/us and there are 2 little people (ages 5 & 7) and I love them too! I also was being treated for these yucky worms in my heart so it was important for me to just "chill out" which came really easy because I'm a very chill dog if I don't say so myself. :-) But now my treatment is over and FM says it is time for me to find my forever home and live happily ever after.

I would love a home with a lot of outdoor space and a fenced in yard. I like to be outside (when it's not too hot) but will roam away if I'm not watched carefully. All of those outside smells just hypnotize me and off I go! I also have a very strong dislike to bikes. FM says she can't imagine why I dislike them so much but I whine, cry, bark and pitch an all-out fit almost every time I see one. Although FM/FD have been working with me on my bad behavior they still think I need to live in a non-congested area without a lot of bikers or runners. Yea, sometimes I do the same thing when I see a jogger/runner (insert embarrassed face here).

The good news though is that I am a real lover of a dog. I am friends with all the dogs I meet and I've met a lot! I also am very happy to be around all people, especially those who are willing to give me attention and rubs. I probably shouldn't be around really small kids though because I can be sort of loud when I play with my toys and that may scare some little kiddos.

Overall, I'm a GREAT catch and seriously can't wait to show you what a hunk of little guy I am! Are you my forever home? I hope so!!!

6/11/20: Hi everyone! I thought I'd provide you an update on how I am doing in my foster home. Things are GREAT here! We have a full-house with 4 adults, 2 kids, 1 resident dog and of course, me. We are all getting along really well and I am loving all of the hugs/kisses and attention I receive. Foster mom keeps discovering all sorts of what she calls "cute" things about me. For example, when Foster Dad gets home from work I get SUPER happy and I wiggle, prance and bounce all over the place. And when I get in the bed with FM/FD I curl up right between them so I can maximize the loving. And when we are going on the boat I do a hop/skip down to the dock with a HUGE smile on my face. Well, after hearing all of that you'll probably think I'm "cute" too!

I do get a little feisty around my toys which FD says it just my way of playing but FM isn't a fan of this behavior so we're working on it. I also like to warn FM/FD of truck danger so when we are on walks and a truck comes by I do a lot of howling and barking. FM thinks my previous owner had a truck which is why I get so excited but she'll never know because I can't talk (wink!).

I was a champ for my first round of heartworm treatment shots and will get the next / final set the first week of July. FM is spending lots of time with me in the quiet house so I can sleep and let the medicine kill those pesky heartworms.

Although I'm not 100% ready for adoption yet I'd love to start talking to any future forever homes who are interested in me. Remember, besides being a snuggle-bug of a dog I also love to swim, to play, to sleep and just be around my humans and fur-friends!!

5/18/20: Hello out there to my future forever home! I am super excited to meet you as soon as my heartworm treatment is all finished. Until then, my foster family continues to give me lots of love, kisses and of course delicious yummies. I love food so breakfast, snack and dinner times are my most favorite times of the day of course! I wiggle and bounce with excitement when I know it’s time to eat. Foster mom tells me how much I crack her up!

So the big news at my foster house is that we have some new peeps here for the summer. My human foster cousins are living with us for the next few months and I am loving all the attention. They are 5 & 7 and full of energy and fun! Of course I still love to sleep (it’s my 2nd favorite activity behind eating) so I am enjoying a perfect balance of food, sleep and playtime. I am happy! I am also taking lots of walks and enjoy smelling everything along the way. Oh and the last thing I must mention is how much fun it is to cruse on the boat! I especially love it when we stop at an island and FM and FD throw my toys in the water so I can fetch. I am an excellent swimmer!

I begin my HW treatment In a few short weeks so I will keep you posted on how its going. FM assures me it will be just fine and I will be healthy in no time!

Until then, enjoy a few new pics of me in my most adorable pose....sleeping!

4/13/20:  Hi, well I've been at my foster parent's house for a few weeks now and have started to let them see the "real me". Here are a few things they have discovered about me (top 10 to be precise):

1. My hair is growing in nicely with a mix of light/dark brown. It's also very soft and fluffy!
2. I have the sweetest light brown eyes. The ladies can't resist me!
3. I am a snuggler. I just love to have people close by, rubbing on me and giving me attention!
4. I have gotten along with all of the dogs I've met so far. I'm a friendly pup!
5. I am an EXCELLENT swimmer who loves to chase Geese in the lake!
6. I love to play with toys and am learning to share. FM says all the toys can't be just mine alone and I have to learn to share! Geez!!
7. Laying in the sun is my favorite way to spend my days. Who doesn't love to nap in the sun right? Right!
8. I REALLY enjoy mealtime and am at a healthy weight. I do try to help FM/FD in the kitchen or when they are eating just in case they happen to drop something!
9. I LOVE to go on walks. In fact I prance like a stud!
10. I am a CHAMPION sleeper. No getting up in the middle night for potty breaks for me. Once I'm down for the night, it's snooze-ville!!

As you can see from my top 10 list I am QUITE THE CATCH. If you want a laid back handsome fella who loves his people then I am the guy for you!! ADOPT PIP!

4/2/20: Hi to all of you potential adopters out there! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Pip which is short for Pip Squeak. You see I am a smaller sized Boxer (just slightly bigger than a pocket Boxer) so the rescue through Pip Squeak fit me perfectly. I have been with my foster family for a few weeks now and am feeling so much better! When I arrived I was in pretty sad shape with an eye and ear infection along with hair loss from an immunity deficiency caused by neglect. But even with not feeling at my best I was still full of love and wanted to be close and snuggle my humans. In just a few short weeks my eyes are clear, my ears look great and my hair is growing back. I am one handsome devil with an under-bite that makes foster-mommy smile every time see sees me!

Now let me tell you a little about my personality. I am charming and funny for sure! I am super easy to get along with and my fur-sister is happy that I am feeling up to playing now. I really enjoy walks in the yard and the neighborhood and am great on a leash or harness. FM and FD praise me for not being a puller, yay me! I also get praise because I am 100% potty trained and have had 0 accidents in the house. I will spend time in a crate but whimper a bit so FM lets me stay out of it most of the time now. You see all I really want is to have a warm soft bed, some food in my tummy, a few toys (balls that squeak are my favorite!), and a family to love me! I promise not to mess anything up in the house as FM says I am an "angel" in that respect. I have met my friendly neighbor fur friends (a Golden Retriever and a Yorkie) and I was very nice to them. Lastly, did I mention I love to sleep?!? Oh my, its my favorite. I especially like to curl up in small spaces like chairs or the corner of a sofa (you see I am small so I fit nicely) and will sleep for hours.

I can't wait to meet my future forever family! Adopt Pip!!
