My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Seal is a Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso/Yorkie mix. She is approximately five years old, and 20 pounds.

Seal is a more reserved little girl, having recently recovered from a serious flea allergy related skin infection and hair loss. Seal has progressed well through help from amazing fosters in meeting and trusting new people, and is doing quite well. Her foster says she is one of the easiest, and she absolutely loves having free time out in the fenced yard.

Seal is good with other mild-mannered dogs, but loves her people. She is a couch potato indoors, and is house training, and doing well. We are looking for her perfect fit. With her year plus basically living alone and low socialization initially we do not see her as a fit for homes with small children. Their activity makes her nervous. We are seeking a pet experienced home. She loves the outside and a home with a safe fenced yard is a priority.

We do not know her cat social skills, she will chase squirrels. We do not feel she would enjoy a home with kids younger than teens.

TO APPLY email adoptionrbf@gmail.com for an auto response email with adoption info. An application and instructions will be included in the email. Please answer all questions and return to our main email address. Our foster based rescue is located in Knoxville, Tennessee and requires all adopters to travel here to finalize the adoption.

Adoption procedures have changed a bit with Covid-19. We are not doing dog meets until an application is submitted and approved, then foster and potential adopter are put in touch to discuss the foster and answer any questions. If well all feel like it's a good fit, we then work to facilitate a meet/adoption. We may require a video home visit or face-time home check.

PLEASE give us a week or so to complete your application as we are all volunteer.

NEE INFO ON SEAL: Seal seems to have a bit of a barking issue when left alone. Not sure Covid helped as her fosters were both working from home. Her last foster started back at work at a new job and Seal showed her tendency to bark when left alone. Not destructive of anything just pretty consistent barking. I am not sure that is a problem as your residence is a connected unit location. I believe it can be worked at but will take time, training and dedication.
