My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet your very loyal affectionate best friend, Walter! Walter is 4 years old black lab mix. He was found as a puppy and spent most of his life in a shelter and various foster homes. Other dogs came and went, but no one ever picked him. And it is a shame because he really wants to be loved! He gets attached to a new owner fairly quickly and will often come and bury his face in your knees. He is excited to play with you or go for a walk. He is medium activity level dog and will be happy with a couple of walks and a bit of play.

Walter is house-trained, pretty good on a leash and can stay home alone. Walter also has excellent guard dog skills and will let you know if there are strange noises outside. (For that reason, it would be best if his new owner has a home not apartment.) Walter is a very human-oriented dog, but he does best with a single owner and no kids or other animals in the house. He will greatly benefit from some socialization training classes as well.

Walter is about 58 lbs and 22.5" to the shoulders. He was not eating properly since he was a baby and it resulted in some minor problems with his digestive system. He is currently on a grain-free diet and his vets says that he is doing much better. Other than that he is healthy, his vaccination is up to date, he was tested for heart worms (negative), neutered and has a veterinary passport.

Walter is in a foster home in Philadelphia right now. He is ready to go home and waiting for his one and only owner whom he will love to the moon and back!
