My story

If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Adoption Application.   ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis.  We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.

Bull Winkle would love to be your one and Only!  Please check out his videos!

Bull Winkle (aka Willy) is a 9 year old beagle/Bassett mix and weighs 24 lbs.  Bull Winkle can be fearful around new people and in new situations, but once he trusts you, he is affectionate and loving. Because of that, he’ll need to be adopted by someone with dog training experience.  He is looking for an adult only home where he can have all of the attention!  He is very loving with his people, and would prefer to get all of your attention as the only animal in the home.

Bull Winkle was heart worm positive when we rescued him, and he has now completed treatment. He’s neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots.  We’re still working on potty training; he has accidents occasionally.  He is crate trained.

He is an active dog and would play ball all day long if you let him.  He sleeps close at night and wakes you up with a ball being dropped in your face.  Because of his obsession with the game of fetching, it would be ideal for him to have a fenced yard.

Please consider giving him a chance at a wonderful life!  He’ll return the favor with lots of love

Our adoption fees cover less than half of our medical expenses. We depend on the generosity of all our animal loving friends to help us continue to rescue these animals.
