My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What is a name? One day a scared little bulldog girl came into the rescue broken hearted; abused both physically and verbally by a man, so very afraid, unhappy and her spirit severely broken. I was given the honor of fostering and renaming this little dog. Thinking long on an appropriate name for this little dog who just wanted to be loved.
So blossomed GIZI! Gizi comes from the Ojibwe word zoongizi that means: she is solid, strong, powerful and difficult to break. Gizi is housebroken and crate trained. Gizi is a year and a half old gal with lots of energy.
Gizi enjoys life, is excited to be with you, very clever and oh so smart. She will sit patiently on the spot where her food bowl goes for her meal, after she has escorted you to where the food is kept first, of course. Gizi enjoys a good antler or Nylobone bone, and is a stuffed critter killer. She will protect you from the water monster that comes from the hose while helping to water the flowers.

Gizi likes walks and doesn’t pull on the leash, car rides, a good joke and being with her bestie peep. Zoomy through the dining room and around the coffee table are the best.
Gizi is still learning her manners, and still spooks very easy so don’t be too hard on her, just smile inside and gently but firmly redirect this happy go lucky gal. Gizi knows how to sit and comes running when called. My gentle husband works with Gizi, and now Gizi will approach instead of run from him in fear or pancake to the floor in terror. Gizi needs a quiet home, with no cats or fluffy tailed dogs, she loves chasing the tail of a fuzzy little dog. Big dogs and older children would be best to share a home with Gizi. When Gizi plays she is all in.
With all her faults, and good manners, Gizi is first and foremost a bulldog who needs a soft bully home. This little bulldog is leaving rescue with her head high; knowing love, belly rubs and a well earned cookie or two.
