My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Joy, German Shepherd mix, 7 yrs., 53 lbs. housebroken. Joy is very intelligent, affectionate, creative and playful. She loves to run in the yard and play with her horse ball. She also is pretty good at fetch. Joy thrives on attention and companionship. Currently she has a yard that she can run in and is able to occupy and exercise herself quite well. She loves to watch the squirrels. Joy has been exposed to older children and has done well with them.

It also would be good for Joy to be an only child. She can be annoyed with smaller animals. Joy has lived successfully with a similar sized male dog and with cats. Joy can not be placed with female dogs or with small dogs. Joy has been exposed to older children and has done well with them. Joy has received excellent medical care all of her adult life. She also was groomed regularly while with her owner and is good for the groomer.

As is common with dogs that have a working breed in them she has a tendency to get into trouble when left to her own devices. She would do best with someone who is home most of the time or who is willing/able to crate or kennel her in a safe place while they are gone. She was crated in the past although she has not been in a crate for over a year now.

It breaks my heart that I must give her up but I am caring for my elderly mother 24/7 in a tiny apartment. I want what is best for Joy. And yes she lives up to her name. I have never laughed so hard with an animal as I have with her!

She is very intelligent, affectionate, creative and playful. She has recently had a wellness exam and her shots are up to date.
