Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Samson! This two year old Great Pyrenees/Lab mix is a love! He ended
up in a high kill shelter in Middle TN as a stray with a pretty significant
leg injury. Apparently he sustained a severe impact to his rear leg that has
healed. We took him to an orthopedic surgeon and the verdict was that since
it is an old injury, surgery would not repair it. There is a healed break at
the top of his leg as well as the bottom of his leg which has healed
twisted. He does use the leg for balance so it is likely that we will not
amputate it. But don't feel too sorry for him as he navigates well and is a
love! He loves his people and is super friendly! This gentle giant has a
laid back energy and his favorite activity is to hang out with his foster
family. When you meet Samson for the first time he goes to person to person
to make sure they have enough doggy love! Super friendly! He is completely
housebroken so far and will let you know when he wants something. He has a
touch of Pyrenees stubbornness which is characteristic of the breed. But
he has the super friendly disposition of a lab. He is in a home with
another dog but can be cantankerous with his food with other dogs. He
really doesn't get much enjoyment out of other furry friends but does
tolerate the cat and the other doggy resident. We don't feel it would be
the best placement for him to be with a dog that was super needy with other
dogs. Also, keep in mind that navigating a ton of steps day after day would
not be a good fit for him. A few steps is not a problem at all but steps
typical of second story homes wouldn't be a good fit especially as he ages.
If you would like an adoption application, EMAIL STORKWOODS@COMCAST.NET. We
have foster homes in various states and he is currently being fostered in
Middle TN but we do adopt dogs in the New England area.
