Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We adopted Max from a shelter when he was a few months old. We've had him with another dog for a year or so before we lost that dog due to health issues. We've had Max for 5 and 1/2 years and he's been a good companion and guard dog. He enjoys being outside, soaking up the soak, fetching balls, going for walks, following you around and snuggling.
We welcomed our first child in 2018 who is now just over 2. We are seeing that Max is fearful of load noises, being chased, having someone constantly down on his level etc. It is unfair to him to allow my child to continue to 'torture' him when we cannot explain to our child that Max doesn't enjoy that type of interaction. Max has been around kids aged 4 plus throughout his life and has always interacted without any issues. We've debated allowing this 'phase' to pass, however we welcome our 2nd son in early 2020 and I fear that Max will continue to be fearful as this child ages and eventually lash out. He has yet to ever bite.
