My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Emmy

My foster mom says she doesn’t know much about me except that I was a stray and was hit by a car. She calls me Emmy and sometimes Queen  Em  because I act like I deserve the royal  treatment,  I  mean, I’m at least 13 years old, don’t you think I deserve it?  I’m  really just  a genteel southern senior lady until I’m not.  Sometimes I’m just a bit grumpy but aren’t all senior ladies?  I love snuggling next to my foster mom and dad on the couch and being petted.  When I’m  really comfortable , I love to roll over on my back for some first-class belly  rubbin ’.  I’m not much into an active lifestyle or going for walks but I do like to play with my cloth toys.  I’m  really more  of a lots of naps  kinda girl who likes to stand outside and sniff all those wonderful outdoorsy smells.  Oh, and I love, love, love going  cruisin ’ in the car.  Going on car rides puts me in my happy place!

As a senior girl, I’m just trying to age gracefully but I’ve also got a fighting spirit.  There’s no way I’m giving up when  life hands me some lemons. That’s not in my rat terrier make-up.  I’m healing well from my car related injuries but like any senior, I’ve got a few health issues.  I don’t hear or see the best and I have congestive heart failure that’s responding  really well to medicine.

I’m heartworm negative, neutered, up to date on my shots, and I do my best to wait and go outside to do my business.  Most of the time I do great but one of my meds makes me go pee a lot.  Sometimes I just can’t wait to go so I try to use the pee pads.  I dream of finding a forever home that is low-key with an older adult  (no small children please)  that will love me for the rest of my senior life and be my companion.   Love and doggie kisses, Emmy
