My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Gunner's Mate and I just finished basic training. Where I used to live I never knew what they wanted of me. I tried my hardest to please but ended up on a chain most of the time. Then I got lucky! I came to Marley's World Dog sanctuary and Paw has been teaching what he calls "adoption skills." Paw knows how to talk dog. I have learned to walk on a leash like a perfect gentleman, not to take off after bunnies, that the other dogs here are my friends and so much more! Paw says he has never seen a dog learn so much so fast. My new skills are pretty fresh and I still am not super confident but Paw says that my kind of dog needs to bond with their own family. For now that should be someone who is an experienced dog handler/owner.
I am neutered, tested negative for heartworm and vaccinated, wormed and on Heartworm Preventative. I was kind of chunky from inactivity but right now I weigh 75 lbs soaking wet. Paw says I would make a great bird dog. You aught to see me catch cookies and I am learning to fetch and shake hands. Please watch my video and you will see what a good fellow I am.
