My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fergus, or Festus, as he is affectionately called by his foster mom, still acts very much a puppy even though he is about 5 years old. He loves to play with toys and has lots of energy and spunk. Gets the Zoomies and bounces when he is happy! He came into rescue off the street with an injury to his front right leg. We think he may have been hit by a car, was taken to the vet and Xrayed revealing a hairline fracture in his shoulder. The vet said it would heal on it's own. He still has a bit of a limp but that doesn't slow him down at all, in fact, he is very fast and a great jumper. He whines and will stand at the door to go out to potty. He is highly food motivated and knows sit, down and is working on stay and roll over. He is an excellent road trip buddy, very calm and easy to drive with, sometimes he will refuse to leave the car but that's just because he enjoys it so much. He also will usually refuse to jump in most times but he is very happy to be picked up and put in the car. He seemed good will a smaller dog he met but one kept getting in his face and he didn't care for that & growled lightly but wasn't overly aggressive. We are not sure if Fergus would be ok with a cat. He had an opportunity to be around one while on leash & he attempted to chase or go after it. He is super friendly to everyone but doesn't care for machines with wheels .... things like vacuums, lawn mowers and weed whips drive him crazy...he definitely needs to be watched around motorized objects since he will literally go after them without hesitation! He takes treats very gently and walks on a leash great. He really just wants to be his person's side all the time & be close to his human. We prefer to place our dogs in home where the children are at lease 8 yrs old. He is about 5 yrs old, approx 50 lbs, up to date on his vaccinations, Heartworm negative, house trained, crate trained & microchipped. Fergus is a great boy!
