Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Memphis, TN - Rex is quite a sociable dog and craves love and affection. He is a great second shadow for his current foster. He is a big, goofy, puppy-like lap dog, but he is BIG, so he needs somebody who is not at risk of being easily knocked over.
He has no interest in playing outside in the yard, but he wants to play in the house. If you throw something outside he has no interest, but if you throw in the house he retrieves it.
He is very strong on the leash, and needs someone who can handle that and help him learn better leash manners over time. He is learning, but still has some room for improvement. He knows sit but would be great to learn some more commands and tricks.
He plays a lot with a female dog who is about 10 lbs lighter than him. He has never been aggressive but plays rough. She handles him for a few minutes before she’s tired out. He has yet to play with any males but he has seen them through the kennel and pretty much ignores them. He has not yet met any cats.
Rex would be a great pet for anybody who wants a dog who will follow them around the house all day and will smother him with love.
He can probably be integrated into a home with any other dogs, provided they can handle his innate strength and playfulness. Because of his rougher style of play it is recommended that any children in the home be at least 12+ years of age.
He is undergoing HW treatment(will be complete prior to finalizing an adoption), neutered, and UTD on vaccines and preventatives.💙 We believe he is 1-2 years old. We adopt out of state for the right fit but do not ship our dogs.
