My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please note, we are a Texas based rescue that transports our pups once
they are adopted. All of our dogs reside in foster homes in TX, so much is known
about their temperament, training level and personality. Thank you for wanting to adopt!

Do you all remember the children's novel, "Charlotte's Web"? Charlotte (a spider) wrote words of praise for Wilbur (the farm pig) in her web . Let's all play!! only, I am Wilbur the dog (not a swine!!) and we will write words of praise about me on this post!! Let's start!!

Affable; friendly, easy going; if you look up this word in the dictionary, you are likely to find my picture..JK, not really!!

Genuine; authentic, truly what something appears to be. I wouldn't steer you wrong on this; what you see is what you get with me!!

Loyal; giving or showing firm and constant support or allegiance. I was the world's most loyal companion to my original owner

Gregarious; Sociable and Genial. I love all people and all dogs!!

Great job on the game!! Now, more about me!!

I am a 6 year young yellow Labrador Retriever. I lived with my original owner for my entire life; we had a good life together.

My owner became confined to a wheelchair and could no longer take care of me; he surrendered me to the shelter.

My owner loved me, but couldn't always physically do things like bathe me and groom me; as a result of that and other stressor factors, I developed a mild case of demodex. According to Wikipedia," veterinarians believe that all dogs have small numbers of demodex mites residing in the skin and that having a few mites is normal and common. It is when immune related -- or nutritional or environmental -- stresses impact the dog that visible skin lesions from mite infestations become noticeable." The shelter was not prepared to take care of the demodex situation and I was scheduled for euthanasia through absolutely no fault of my own!! Enter Hay Dude Critter Rescue!! I was pulled from the shelter and placed in a fabulous foster home!! I have been treated for the Demodex and other possible allergen factors. I am being bathed regularly and my skin condition is rapidly improving.

At my foster placement, I play all day in the wading pool throwing balls and toys up in the air and catch them.... and try to stay cool (central air in my living space does help with that!!). When new dogs arrive, I immediatly take it upon myself to become the welcoming committee!! I get along with everyone and am having a great time.

The only thing that could make my life better is to be in my own home with my own person again. I have packed on the dreaded "Quarantine Fifteen" pounds, but am working them off slowly through my playtime activities at Foster Mom's. I weigh in at 82 pounds but should weigh around 70 pounds at a healthy weight for my build.

Well, that is all about me. ! am a galoofy, fun loving, ball catching, playful, joy filled, human oriented Labrador Retreiver. I just want to end with one statement; "Some Dog".
