Muffin is officially accepting adoption applications! Muffin will be able to go to her new home as soon as July 23, 2020.
Muffin is 3 years of age and 50 pounds. Muffin has had a ruff start to her life. She was picked up by Tulsa Animal Welfare when they responded to reports of a dog fight. Once they arrived they found her tethered to another dog. While we do not know for certain, it is likely that Muffin was used as a bait dog, or at the very least was in more fights than she ever should have been. Her teeth were filed down, so she never had a way to defend herself unfortunately. It is evident Muffin has been a mother more times than any dog should ever have to be. Additionally, she was heart worm positive. She has undergone and completed heart worm treatment thanks to generous donations. Her spay appointment has been scheduled.
Muffin is going to require a very special home with a family that is willing to be patient with her.
She does not trust easily and does not warm up to new people quickly. She is startled by fast movements. While she has been in foster with other dogs, she would benefit from being the only animal in the house. A fenced yard is not a requirement, however she will need to be on a leash when outside.
Though it took her time to warm up to her foster parents, she is an absolute love. Her ideal day would be filled of cuddles on a fluffy surface with her hooman. Since completing her heart worm treatment she has gotten far more energy but should still be considered more on the chill side.
