Kirby was found as a stray in rural South Carolina and caught a ride with some friendly police officers to the shelter. Poor Kirby was petrified in that loud environment and cowered in the corner of his kennel shaking. Despite his fear, he never tried to bite or hurt any of the people at the shelter. We knew Kirby could blossom into a fun-loving, gentle dog if given the chance, so we brought him up north the first chance we got!
Kirby is 9 months old and weighs around 30 pounds as of June 27. He absolutely adores other dogs and requires a home with one or several other dog friends. He lives with cats and kids in his foster home and is great with both! Kirby is looking for a family with the patience to allow him to come out of his shell even more and teach him that the world isn't so scary after all.
