My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Yaki! He is a friendly male greyhound who is looking for a loving forever home. He gets along great with other large dogs and enjoys doing the occasional zoomie. This handsome boy loves meeting new new people and getting attention. He really enjoys going on walks but can be a little strong on lead when he wants to smell something in particular. Food and getting pet are two of his favorite things, he is sure to let you know when it is dinner time. overall he has a happy and calm demeanor.

He was previously in a home for about two years so he is accustomed to the home life. He has some sensitivity to handled or touched in a certain way. So Yaki would do best in a home without children and with an experienced adopter who can identify his cues when he is feeing uncomfortable.

* Fast Friends adopts in the New England area. If you are interested in Yaki or one of our other available dogs, please complete an adoption application at www.helpinggreyhounds.org/adopt-a-greyhound. Yaki has not been tested for compatibility with cats. *

More about this rescue

Fast Friends is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to educating the public about Greyhounds and sighthounds from around the world with the primary goal of finding responsible, loving homes for them. Fast Friends envisions a world where no Greyhound or sighthound lacks for a loving home and these breeds are valued and celebrated for their uniqueness.

Fast Friends works closely with both international and domestic partners to bring retired racing Greyhounds and other sighthounds in need from countries where they have almost no chance of a local adoption to its facility in Swanzey, New Hampshire. Each dog receives high quality care with a focus on one-on-one staff time and individualized plans to help them overcome any neglect or trauma they have experienced so that they can be successful in a home. We are dedicated to taking in dogs with the most challenging circumstances.
