Teddy is a wonderful four-year old Retriever / Lab mix who was surrendered to the shelter for landlord issues. When we inquired to the shelter about him, they had only one thing to say, awesome…and boy, were they right!
From the moment his foster family picked him up, he’s been a dream dog; he is playful, house-trained, loving and walks so well on his leash that everyone wants to be the one to hold him! He is great with other dogs, doesn’t mind cats and just doesn’t have a mean bone in his body.
At close to 90 pounds you would expect him to be a little intimidating but that’s just not the case with Teddy, he just reminds you of a big teddy bear, which is why we had to give him the name. If you sit down on the floor, he will crawl over to you and put his paw on you or if you go to a different room he will walk with you and make these adorable sounds to let you know he misses you.
We noticed a skin condition on his belly but we believe a change in his diet should help. Teddy is a special dog and reminds us just what wonderful dogs are waiting in the shelters for homes of their own. Unfortunately due to a cherry eye and matted coat, both of which have been easily taken care of; he was passed over at the shelter until his new foster family saw him and had to take him home. Teddy isn’t just looking for a family; he’s looking for a friend.
Teddy is neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on his shots.
