My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please note, we are a Texas based rescue that transports our pups once they are adopted. All of our dogs reside in foster homes, so much is known about their temperament, training level and personality. We know adopting a dog sight unseen can be daunting, so we are happy to share additional videos, photos and even let you Facetime with the pup. Thank you for wanting to adopt!

I am not sure if my name, "Major" was a result of my major size or from my regal bearing. Whichever, it seems to fit!!

I am a Great Pyrenees/Newfoundland mix. I was born 11/2/19 in San Antonio, TX. I lived at the breeders for a few months, which accounts for my lack of "real world" experience. At only 10 months old and 80 pounds, I am a little like Buddy the Elf in the movie, "Elf". I have a good heart, just need some encouragement, direction, and understanding.

I am good with the other medium and large dogs; foster mom has not put me with small dogs only due to my size.

When people see me, the first word that comes to mind is "Gorgeous".....I have the fluffiness and flowing coat of the Great Pyrenees with the beginnings of the coloration of the St. Bernard saddle.

Both sides of my ancestry are classified in the "Working Dog" category. While the Great Pyrenees were bred for their attributes as livestock guardians in the Pyrenees Mountains between France and Spain, the Newfoundland was bred for rescue work With this genetic legacy of hard work, it is best to have a task in mind for these giant breeds. If you don't happen to have a herd of goats around, You and your family or pets will be my job!!

My personality is more of the Great Pyrenees; I am a little shy and uncertain of new people and situations at first but can be won over by treats and kind words.

I will continue to grow, so would do best in a home with a large yard or on acreage. I would do best in an adult home, only based on my size and my shy nature.

I am just a big puppy that needs my own hooman to help me become my best self. Could that be you?
