My story

Hey, my name is Dora.  I am about two years old and I weigh fifty pounds.  I came to the rescue after I was found in the woods with a new puppy.  Sadly, I had five but when they found me there had been a lot of rain and only one was alive.  I did my best but there was so much water.  Anyways, I took care of Daisy until she was old enough to leave my side and its time for me to find a home of my own.

I am young and playful. I like some other dogs but I will admit a few little yacky ones have bugged me.  Toys are ok and running in the fenced yard is fun.  Please don't misunderstand I want to live in the house with you and just play and potty outside.  I am young and could benefit from learning more proper manners.  Do you have time to help me learn? I want to love you and have a real home I can call ours.

I have been spay, vaccinated and microchipped.  I am current on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives.  My adoption fee is 150.00.  The first step in adopting me is to complete an application for Dora at dogsasfamily.org.  I think a home and family is the best thing ever.

More about this rescue

After years of experience volunteering with other rescues I have chosen to have a small rescue that I can directly help unwanted dogs. There are so many mixed breeds that need homes I am not breed specific. I try to stop and pick up the strays or unwanted dogs no matter what there condition is and rehabilitate those that need it and completely vet everyone, then rehome no matter how long that takes. Everything I do is for the dogs because I beleive there is a home for them if you are just patient and take the time to work with each dog.
