Buster Beagle was posted by the volunteers at TWHRA. He had just come into Estill county shelter. He was in very poor condition and very infested with fleas and ticks. He was at high risk of being euthanized so TLC took him in. He was transported to Lexington where we picked him up.
We went straight to the vet and found that Buster has lyme and erhlichia tick disease. He was heartworm negative. We found in addition to the flea and tick infestation, he was also full of lice. A dose of Nexgard fixed that problem very quickly! He also has dry eye condition and will need daily eye drops. Due to his tick disease, and his overall poor condition, we had to wait to neuter. He has a neuter scheduled on June 13th.
He has some pretty bad teeth in front most likely from chewing a chain or an enclosure. It is hard to determine his exact age. We are completely guessing that he is 6 years old.
Buster is very sweet. He is fine with other dogs and house cats. He loves people. He has improved so much in the time he has been with us. He is an overall nice boy :)
