4/1 update from foster: 4/1 update from foster: She is eating well, even taking pills rather than liquid meds for the congestive heart failure. She is totally peepad trained and has been from the first day. She loves being brushed. Every night she coms to me for a half hour of lap time, then over to Kev for a second half an hour. Barks very rarely and never growls. Does not like going outside at all, but is great in the car since she realizes we do bring her back to her crate. She chooses to sleep in the crate. Ignores cats and the other dogs. She has been seen sleeping with the evil Dick Clark (our chi). Doc and I think she has several good years left in her!

Update from vet 2/21: Diagnosed with congestive heart failure, inquinal and umbilical hernias, severe periodontal disease and bilateral ear infections. She can't undergo surgery at this time so the hernias and dentals will have to wait. We will need to try to get the congestive heart failure under control first. Sponsors needed! 6.6 lbs and estimated age is 12 years.

Shelter Bio: 2/19/14 Lira was brought to shelter by someone who said she was dumped at their house. I believe they talked about a housebreaking problem. She can eat soft food. They said she sleeps a lot, but is also playful. Umbilical hernia possibly.
