Here's what the humans have to say about me:
DINAH, FEMALE, 4 months old, 20 POUNDS AND GROWING
DINAH IS BEING FOSTERED IN THE RICHMOND VA AREA. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN DINAH, PLEASE GO TO WWW.MOMSVA.ORG AND COMPLETE AN APPLICATION.
Hello, my name is Dinah. I am a shepherd/hound mix, about 4 months old. In the short time I have been with my foster family I have learned so many things, like sitting for attention rather than jumping up, staying away from my dog sister’s food bowl, and coming when my name is called. My favorite place is out in the fenced yard where I can wander and watch birds, but I am also happy in the kitchen just hanging out with my toys. Toys are fun to toss up and chase- often all by myself :) At night I sleep in a crate with a few of my toys and a soft blanket. My dog sister is teaching me a lot of things and I love her so much. She doesn’t like it when I chew on her ears, or tail, or leg, but she lets me know and I stop. We have chasing races around and around the backyard which I love. My least favorite thing is a collar or a harness, so my foster mom is working on that with me so we can go for walks in the neighborhood. Sometimes I just need to sit down and take in my surroundings as so many things are new and unfamiliar. Our walks down the street take quite a long time this way! Certainly with some good training I will be an expert on a leash. In the meantime, I want snuggles, belly rubs and someone to throw toys for me to fetch. There are no small children or cats where I am staying right now, so I am not sure how I would feel about either of them. I got used to my big dog sister very quickly and am sure I would do the same if I was given time to meet other dogs in a safe way.
