My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rick is a sweet, quiet ,mild mannered companion, who's favorite spot is by your feet.

Don't let his sad face fool you as he is quite a regal boy. Rick was brought to BARCS with a severely injured eye and, unfortunately, they had to one of their partner hospitals remove the eye. He walks well on leash but between his adorable stubby legs, and some lameness in his back end we believe is from an old injury he does have some trouble keeping up. Never a guy to miss out on the fun he does enjoy stroller rides during walks with his foster mom, other dogs, and people.

Overall Rick is easy going and low energy, although he does still have happy bursts, especially at meal time. He can manage stairs but he prefers to be carried and loved on. He has met some small children and done well, but will hide behind furniture when he’s had enough. A relaxed, low key home will probably be best for this handsome guy. He shows more interest in female dogs.

We think Rick would adjust well to most homes. With that said he isn't a big fan of being crated, and would very much enjoy someone who was home a lot. He tends to be pretty quiet except for when he cant find his person so an apartment setting may be tough for him.

If you would like to meet this special dog, please email dogs@lunashouse.org to set up an appointment. Please be patient to hear from us as we are all volunteers and may not be able to respond immediately.

Our volunteers make sure just the right home is chosen for me so they require a home visit to make sure there are no safety issues that could hurt me. You must live within a 50 mile radius of our location in order to be considered.

The adoption fee is $250 and includes vaccines, flea prevention treatment, neuter/spay, and micro chipping. Like us on Facebook!!
